Henry Miller, CEO + Executive Director
A 20-year veteran of the nonprofit housing development industry, Henry oversees the development of LDC’s single-family homeownership programs, construction, and education. He received his 35-year Realtor’s pin, identifying him as a real estate professional that has a membership with the National Association of Realtors (NAR), as well as subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. NAR is the world’s largest professional association, representing over 1,000,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry. He holds a degree in Business Administration and has more that thirty-five years of experience in the construction industry. He has acquired, negotiated, and managed several building projects, construction loans, and permanent financing for the support of affordable housing and community preservation in Nashville and the surrounding Metro and Middle Tennessee areas.
Duanna Murphy-Miller, Co-Executive Director + Executive Assistant
Duanna has a degree in Urban Studies with a minor in Nonprofit Management. With 20 years’ experience of volunteering, her extensive involvement with the community aides as a fundraising event overseer of our many partners’ venues. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success along with being a LEAD TN Graduate. Duanna is a 14-year veteran in supervision and management with the Tennessee Department of Revenue. This is an asset to her role in assisting our Executive Director and Housing Coordinator to ensure daily tasks of the organization are executed in a timely manner.
Marvelyn Kinzer, Compliance Officer
Marvelyn has a Master of Science degree in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies. With more than ten years of extensive experience in corporate legal and healthcare, she ensures that LDC complies with federal, state, government regulatory, legal requirements as well as internal policies and bylaws. Her duties include working with management and staff to identify and survive regulatory risks. Marvelyn’s superior abilities in the administration of procedures, processes, or systems associated with contract programs will enhance our mission.
Derrick Miller, Volunteer Program Director
Derrick Miller holds a degree in Business Management and has more than five years of experience in management. He is very gifted and the ideal candidate to manage this program because of his interpersonal skills. Derrick is committed to Living Development Concepts’ mission. Our volunteer opportunities have greatly increased since his incumbency. He is keenly aware that volunteers are the lifeline of our organization, giving hundreds of hours each year in order for LDC to continue its mission. He also provides orientation and training to volunteers, so they are qualified to assist donors at events.
Tammy Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator
Ms. Wilson has over five years in the nonprofit volunteering arena. She is responsible for supervising our volunteer activities and placement in different roles based on their qualifications, while maintaining accurate records. Tammy performs specialized tasks, manages teams of volunteers, as well as establishes new relationships with multiple universities and organizations for volunteer recruitment, where her attention to detail aids in overseeing the successful completion of projects and events.
Jim McLean, Housing Development
Mr. McLean is a veteran General Contractor who has been servicing Nashville for over 22 years working in the housing arena. Jim works for himself as the co-owner of McLean Construction Company/J2K Builders, LLC that is in the Special Trade Contractors, N.E.C. industry in Nashville, Tennessee. J2K Builders are a development group that specializes in “Turnkey” projects. Mr. McLean wanted to concentrate more on building affordable housing to help non-profit developers, and what better fit than to partner with our organization to accomplish this feat. He currently consults and oversees LDC on upcoming housing construction projects of its three-bedroom homes.
